Q. What does Secretum Meum Mihi mean?
A. From the Latin, it roughly translates to "My secret is unto me", or, "My secret is mine." It is pronounced "seh-cray-toom may-oom meehee".

Q. Why is the company and newsletter named Secretum Meum Mihi?
A. When Edith Stein suddenly converted to the Catholic faith in 1922, her best friend asked, "Why?" Edith mysteriously wrote on a nearby sheet of paper, Secretum meum mihi. She never elaborated. We are Catholic women committed to nurturing and sharing our own mysterious relationships with Jesus.

Q. What is the content of the newsletter?
A. Each issue contains an interview with a Catholic woman of note, a bible study, a book review, a historical sketch, a specific prayer intention and a feature essay. The issue themes run in a series. The first series was The Ideal Woman (October 2006-July 2007), based on Edith Stein's ideas in her Essays on Woman. The current series is on Successful Male-Female Partnerships (August 2007 - June 2008), historical sketches of the ways that men and women have worked together in history. In August 2008, we begin a series on the encyclical Mulieris Dignitatem (On the Dignity and Vocation of Woman).

Q. How often is it published?
A. Monthly. (We publish by the 15th of each month.)

Q. What's the free book?
A. You choose our new book, The Essential Woman,  An Hour with Edith Stein by John Sullivan, or The Glory to be Revealed in You: A Spiritual Companion to Pregnancy, by Kristen West McGuire, is a guided tour of spiritual reflections for the full term of pregnancy. It has bible verses, quotes from great writers and saints, and journaling space.

Q. Can I order the newsletter but skip the free book?
A. Sure, just indicate in the comments section of our order on Paypal that you don't need the book.

Q. Can I mail you a check to subscribe or buy the book instead of using PayPal?
A. Yes, but it will take longer to process.

We just published our first book, and will publish aother this fall. We hope to add regular podcasts, online classes (which will be discounted or FREE for paid subscribers) and annual retreats.
