Long days And even longer nights I think time and again Something's not right Those tell tale signs Upon my face Grow more obvious It's time they trace And I think to myself My youth has gone by But then you come home And I see my beauty in your eyes.
Children are special Especially these God blesses these children With special needs. Days full of battles My will against yours It takes much of mine To not slam the doors The day often dissolves Into my own sobs and cries And then you come home And I see my strength in your eyes. The day gets started I'm already behind It's hard to get going I run out of time One more mess to clean More Laundry, more dishes My heart - It feels bitter and useless And just when I think Compassion and passions all lies That's when you come home And I see my love in your eyes. (This is part two of a two part interview. You can find the first part here.) Kristen: When we first met, you had two kids. And at the time, I had no idea the wild ride you were on. I remember being just amazed by your faith. You were so strong, and I just liked being with you for that reason. What helped you keep it all together? Jen: I was thankful. I had a beautiful daughter and an adorable son. I was able to stay home with them, because Clay was able to provide for us. I mean, I could have ended up on welfare and had four or five kids by different fathers or whatever. But there I was, home with those kids and able to be with them. |

It is hard for us to understand how radical Jesus was in his day. Men and women mingle all the time in our culture, in homes and offices and churches. So, when John Paul II spends an entire chapter of Mulieris Dignitatem looking at Jesus’ interactions with women, it almost seems patronizing. The long list of interactions with women of all types seems nearly mundane. Look, some of Jesus’ best friends were women!” Well, sure, Jesus did have some interesting encounters with women in the gospels. The point here, however,
is that he is seen by his contemporaries as a radical in his relationships with everyone. And everyone was pretty scandalized by his behavior. |
